"Cooking helps raise my anxiety. It can't cure it but it helps," says John Whaite, last year's champion of The Great British Cook Off.

He was identified with manic anxiety 8 years back.

Whaite explains that cooking is a way to transform manic, unpredictable unfavorable power right into something useful. He found it an efficient way to manage his problem.

Denyer has battled with psychological health issue for 15 years and was recently identified with borderline personality condition. She sees a psychiatrist and has taken anti-depressants.

Obtaining therapy has not constantly been easy. Food preparation and cooking have, on event, very literally conserved my life, giving me an electrical outlet for feelings I could not handle. It has provided me with an alternative to self-harm."

Eastern London NHS Structure Trust is one psychological health and wellness provider that has explored in food preparation treatments. Previously this year they introduced Dishes of Life, an incorporated talking treatment with healthy and balanced food preparation and consuming sessions.

Dr Note Salter, a specialist psychiatrist operating in eastern London, says cooking and food preparation ready work treatments that help clients develop planning abilities, short-term memory and social abilities - all which experience in psychological disease. He says cooking is especially effective because of its significance in our society - associated with support and benefits.
